Goals:

The ICE Alliance works with the U.S. Government to clarify and support industry positions in the implementation of Clean Energy programs, as outlined in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 and similar proposals under consideration. The ICE Alliance encourages the adoption of the following program goals:

Broad U.S. engagement in helping developing nations create incentives for cleaner energy technologies;

U.S. participation in multilateral funds or similar mechanisms to provide direct financial support to offset the higher costs of cleaner energy technologies;
Continued protection of intellectual property rights as necessary to advance the development of technology;

Elimination of trade barriers to cleaner energy technologies;

Coordinated promotion of cleaner energy exports.

Action in each of these areas will foster the partnership needed between government and industry to develop market opportunities abroad for domestic industry and solve the global climate challenge.
