Interagency Coordination:
Improved Interagency Coordination and Support for Clean Energy Export Programs

The ICE Alliance believes that improved coordination between U.S. Federal Agencies in support of clean energy investment and deployment will be critical to meet global power distribution and emission reduction goals. This improvement will also bolster the competitiveness of U.S. companies providing clean energy products and services by leveling the playing field in relation to foreign government-backed competitors.

The International Energy Agency estimates that the G-8’s goal of halving 50 percent of greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 will require investments between $17 and $45 trillion. To meet this challenge, the ICE Alliance recommends that clean energy export programs, including those established in the Energy Independence and Security Act 2007, and the CTF be included in an overall U.S. strategy. Together, these programs can create an unprecedented export potential, a cleaner and more efficient array of energy options for our own domestic energy future, and an opportunity to expand and retain workforce in this critical growth industry.
